Grandma K & Grandpa Arnie visit

We had a visit from Grandma K & Grandpa Arnie last weekend. It was fun having them here! Evan took walks with Grandma, read books with Grandpa, and played all day long. We went to a concert downtown on Friday and enjoyed the music, watching other babies, and dancing, though Evan's favorite part was probably the hot dog and (organic) doughnut. Yum!

Shots of the Day

This morning before school Evan finished his breakfast (graham crackers dipped in yogurt) and was ready to go. He headed over to the stairs and yelled for daddy. Daddy takes him to school in the morning, and Evan was anxious to play with his friends. Evan wouldn't give up. He called and called, but daddy wasn't quite ready. Evan then gave me a sideways glance, no doubt checking to see how serious I was about not letting him up the stairs alone (click on the image to see his questioning face in more detail), before dashing up to see what was taking so long. Daddy was putting on his last shoe, and in just a minute more, the boys were out the door.

After school Evan was super hungry, as only a toddler can be. From his wails you would think he hadn't eaten for days! Daddy stepped in to serve as a distraction in the final minutes of dinner preparation, and took Evan for a shoulder ride. Talk about fun! The wails were instantly replaced by giggles of glee at being up so high and the new perspective, and I was able to catch a shot of Evan mid-giggle. There's not a straight face in the house when he laughs - even Ernie seems to laugh along with us, it's that infectious. We hope it makes you smile too!

Doggie Treats

Evan is fascinated by all doggies. He realized not too long ago that when doggies are good, they get treats. Now both boys know exactly where the treats are located in the kitchen, and what they have to do to get them. Ernie comes inside and immediately Sits, while Evan commands, "Doggie, sit, treat!" As you'll see it sounds more like "doggie s#it tree," but the meaning is there all the same. Ernie is super gentle taking the treats, and Evan can't give him enough. What a pair.

Spring Flowers

Happy Spring! The daffodils and hyacinths are in full bloom and the yard looks great.

With Spring comes Spring Cleaning, and Evan is right there helping us. He grabbed the broom right out of Mike's hands, and started cleaning up while we relaxed. That's my kind of kid!

Flowers for Mommy

My little man found the yard's spring time flowers today, and like the sweet little guy he is, he picked them for mommy! What a sweet boy. I love you, Evan!

Old Postings are New!

While watching the NCAA finals tonight, I was finally able to catch up on about half of the back-posts I've been promising. Check these out in addition to yesterday's Easter Egg Hunt video:

Easter Egg Hunt

Happy Easter! We had a great day today. We went to church where Evan talked and sang through most of the service. When we came home, we realized the Easter Bunny had come and brought baskets full of goodies, as well as "hid" eggs out in the yard. Evan was very excited to find the colorful eggs, and he loved that they all held surprises inside. The jellybeans were definitely his favorite. What fun! More photos to come soon as we wade through all the great shots from this beautiful Spring weekend.
