Pool Time!

It's officially summer! There's a pool across the street, and Evan took his first swim. He looked like a pro surfer in his suit, and was ready to start taking lessons from Mommy. This is going to be a fun summer!

Who's that handsome baby looking back at me? He sure is cute. I wonder if he wants to play. Wait a minute, that's me!

Crawling!

For a long time now, Evan has wanted so badly to crawl. This morning he figured out how! His favorite thing to crawl for is Ernie, but the newspaper (and anything else on the floor) is a close second. Go, little man, go!

Playing Ball

It's summertime - let's play catch! Evan and Mike rolled the ball back and forth in a fun game this morning. Evan proved to be good at capturing the ground balls as they came his way. Even Ernie , who doesn't usually like balls, wanted to get in on the fun too!

Ernie

Ernie and I are best buds. We may not snuggle and wrestle, but sometimes we're both in the mood for a quick hug and kiss. We sure do love each other.

Let's Talk

Evan loves to talk. He sings in the car, he talks to his teachers and friends at school, tells jokes to Ernie, and chats with us all the time. He even converses with his toys! Using that new voice sure is fun.

Baseball Game

Today was Evan's first baseball game. We went to see Virginia take on Duke - and win, 12-1. What a great game! It's too bad the beginning of the season had rainy and cold weather, or we'd have been out here all the time. Evan just loves having a hat that matches his Daddy's.

Mommy's Day

Today was Mommy's Day. Grandma was here too. We went out for brunch with a chocolate fondue fountain, gave mommy flowers and presents, and watched Virginia Baseball and Lacrosse games. It was all fun, but the best part was hanging out and snuggling with mommy. She's the best mommy I know! As you can see, I think my mom is great. Love you mommy!

DMB

While waiting for dinner, Evan and daddy were listening to the latest DMB concert recording. We think he really likes it!

First Foods

Evan's 6 months old, and is starting to eat from a spoon. The first bite was a little odd, but he mastered the skill on his second bite. He now loves to open wide! He's even fairly clean... so far.
He enjoyed chewing on the spoon, and rolling the new texture around in his mouth. Next stop: Squash!

Find that Paci

Evan's figured out which end of the paci is the right one to suck on, and even better, figured out how to get it in his mouth! He knows where it is, and is focused on getting it. What a big boy!

Cool socks!

One of my good friends personalized socks for me. It was a great present! They're so much fun to wear, they provide good traction when I try to scoot across the floor, and they're just so darn cute. Everyone at school wants their own pair, but these are just for me.

Toy Box

Now that Evan can sit up all by himself, he's discovering new perspectives and opportunities he never knew existed. He loves to sit with his toy box and decide on his own which toy to play with. He just dives in head first, but always comes up smiling.
