It's springtime! Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, and Evan's taking swim lessons in preparation for the pool to open at the end of May. Evan is currently taking swim class and learning to swim by himself - a huge step! While he's always been fine putting his face in the water, holding it under is another matter. At today's class, we told him that if he had a great class he could get a pair of goggles, in the hopes that either he'd do it and earn the goggles or do great, get the goggles, then master the task. He did try, and had a great class, so he earned his goggles! They're absolutely his newest favorite accessory - he's worn them everywhere for the past 24 hours... into the restaurant ("Mommy, why all the people laugh when I go into the restaurant with my goggles?"), playing baseball in the yard (he ran to tell the neighbors about his goggles), to bed (we did wrestle them off his head, but he slept with them on his nightstand), during breakfast (which might be why he spilled the yogurt), and, of course, to school (why not??). I'm sure there'll be swim practice in the bathtub tonight - we'll see how it goes!
