March Madness

It's March Madness! Evan showed his allegiance to the Badgers by wearing his shirt to school today. Mike tried to teach him to cheer "Let's Go Red" this morning; we did get a pretty convincing squeal that will hopefully develop into a better cheer as the years progress.
Here's hoping for a good game!

Disney Shirt

Thanks to Auntie Chrissy for Evan's very first Mickey Mouse t-shirt! Evan wore it to school today, with his little-man-jeans and red socks. He was the hit of the class. We can't wait to come down to Florida and see both Mickey and family in person.

Jumper Talk

Evan is now old enough and strong enough to play in his jumper. As you can see, he's pretty excited, and wants to tell you all about it!

There is nothing sweeter than Evan's toothless baby laugh. He gets a twinkle in his eye and his entire body shakes with happiness.
The laugh is elusive though. We've spent literally hours of video trying to capture this little miracle, but Evan's smart. He laughs and laughs, and the second the camera is turned on, the laugh is turned off. It doesn't matter who's holding the camera or if it's in his line of vision - he just knows! I taped him the other day for 5 minutes, just waiting for the laugh to return (and making funny faces galore)... nothing. The second I gave up, he giggled and giggled - like he had been holding it in all the while. What a stinker!
Persistence pays 0ff - I finally got him! Doesn't it just make you laugh out loud?

Getting Bigger

Evan has put it together - the bottle = food = happiness. He watches with rapt attention when one is being made, and clamors for it when its ready. He even holds his bottle by himself! This boy is getting big.

Snow!

It finally snowed yesterday in Charlottesville. (The last post about a Snow Day was really an ice day - by anyone's standards, and especially the standards of these Wisconsinites, the few flakes that fell didn't count.) We got about an inch of the good wet white stuff to make everything look crisp and clean. It didn't last long, and the weatherman is forecasting 60 degrees again soon, but Evan's now prepared. Ernie showed him how to run and play in the snow; he would have stayed out all day if we'd let him. Maybe next year they'll have fun chasing and throwing snowballs at each other.

Peace, Love, and Rock 'n' Roll

Peace in the house is wonderful.
Love keeps us all together.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with some good Rock 'n' Roll! Evan's first concerts were Springsteen, DMB, and Brooks and Dunn. We think this little guy is going to be a music lover!
